About Shelley Price Draper

Shelley Price Draper, MSW, RCC (#12679), RSW (#10008), is a talented, empathic professional who utilizes a variety of treatment approaches and skills-based therapies in her counselling work.

Receiving both degrees in Social Work, Shelley compassionately supports her clients as they lean into the discomfort that accompanies change. At Kelowna Counselling, Shelley works collaboratively with her clients to achieve their goals and help them live a better life.

Background

Shelley’s 23-year career includes counselling youth and adults with alcohol and drug addiction and/or mental health and behavioural challenges. She has worked extensively with individuals of all ages who are struggling in response to trauma, change, anxiety and depression. She provides support to those with a family member or friend on the autism spectrum or experiencing mental health issues including addiction and substance use. At Kelowna Counselling, Shelley counsels employees facing challenges in the workplace and couples with relationship issues. She is a registered counsellor with CVAP (Crime Victim Assistance Program) and ICBC.

Prior to starting her private counselling practice, Shelley worked in institutional settings, providing contract services to social service organizations, school boards, the youth justice system and a psychiatric hospital for children, youth and their families.

Shelley is active in her community through participation in peer associations and development forums and is a committed volunteer. A frequent collaborator, Shelley partners with colleagues on individual client cases, where invited, and co-facilitates adult, youth and family therapy groups.
