Money stress is common during a season. A simple plan can help you feel more in control.
Where Does Your Money Go?
- Track all spending for one pay period.
- Include groceries, entertainment, snacks, transportation, subscriptions.
Give Every Dollar a Job
- Be a planful spender.
- Income – Expenses = $0 left unassigned.
- Include rent, food, bills, savings, and fun.
Set Money Goals
- Finish the season with savings, pay off debt, save for travel, or build an emergency fund.
- Keep goals realistic and flexible.
Needs vs Wants
- Needs: rent, groceries, bills.
- Wants: eating out, gear, entertainment.
- Ask: Do I need this? Is there a cheaper option? Would future-me prefer this saved?
Money Saving/Making Strategies
- Use Click & Collect/shop with a list.
- Bulk buy staple items with flat mates.
- Meal plan/Food prep simple meals for the week.
- Bring snacks or lunch to work.
- Limit small daily purchases.
